Odisha police have rescued a girl from the clutches of her abductors who was drugged, kidnapped and kept in various hotels in Puri and Cuttack for four days.
In a late night operation, police yesterday rescued a Plus III second year girl from near a hotel in Pala Mandap area here.
According to reports, Asim Khan alias Pintu with the help of one of his friends allegedly kidnapped his love interest from Jagatsinghpur.
On Wednesday, Pintu asked a girl known to the complainant to bring her to market. After engaging the girl in a talk, she was offered a spiked drink. When the girl lost consciousness, she was shoved in a car.
The jilted lover and his friend Anil Mallick sped from the spot in a WagonR towards Puri.
The duo confined the girl in a sedated state in a Puri hotel till Saturday.
The victim was staying in a private hostel in Jagatsinghpur. She was earlier proposed by Pintu but the offer was rejected by her.
After spending four days in Puri, the trio moved to a hotel in Pala Mandap area here keeping her sedated all the time After exhausting all his money, Pintu went to seek help from his friends on Sunday and had asked Anil to keep vigil on the girl. As the girl regained consciousness, she managed to call up her brother staying in Bhubaneswar.
Her brother approached Badambadi police station seeking help to trace his sister.
In the meantime, the girl managed to give a slip to Anil and fled the hotel. After hearing her predicament of the victim, two youths overpowered Anil and informed the police.
