The elite force, in charge of Prime Minister’s security, today reviewed the security arrangements along route from the helipad to the meeting venue at AIIMS ground. They also held a meeting with the district administration for better coordination and test-landed a helicopter at the helipad as part of the drill.

State Government is also leaving no stones unturned to ensure a smooth event given BJP’s attempt to gather as many as 5,00,000 supporters to the event. Odisha Government has announced to deploy 50 platoons of cops and 10 IPS officers to supervise the arrangements.

“A helicopter test landing was conducted today as part of the mock drill. The barricading work would be over by tomorrow morning. The security responsibilities along the route would be handed over to us starting tomorrow,” said Balasore SDPO Prafulla Chandra Badajena.

BJP leaders, on the other hand, were seen stepping up their efforts to attract maximum crowd to the event.

While some were seen doing an election-like door-to-door campaigning, many were seen distributing leaflets inviting people to the event.

“The Prime Minister himself will present his report card before the public. This is a great opportunity for the public to understand what he has done for the country and the state in the past two years. This is why we are approaching people directly and inviting them to the event so that they can come and listen to the Prime Minister,” said BJP Mahila Morcha State President Prabhati Parida.
