Bhubaneswar, Dec 11:
Continuing his tirade against the Congress that he launched while he was still in the party, Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, the founder of ‘Ama Odisha,’ has said leaders of the party lack courage.
“If the Congress has not been doing well in elections, the reason is the lack of courage on the part of leaders to speak and confront the truth,” Patnaik said. “How can an army possibly win a war if the soldiers lack courage?” the expelled Congress leader asked.
Patnaik said when he tried to speak the truth, he was thrown out of the party.
Senior Congress leaders and the head of the party’s media cell Narasingha Mishra has dismissed Patnaik’s allegation saying; “Lambasting one and all on the streets is not courage, but lack of discipline,” he said.
The Editor of Sambad thanked his elder brother and former PCC president Niranjan Patnaik for what he said about him on Monday. “I am grateful to him for what he has said about me, though rather late in the day,” he said.
At a press conference on Monday, the senior Patnaik had said that Soumya Ranjan was always talented but remained under the shadow of former chief minister JB Patnaik and himself for long. “He has finally come out of our shadow and has carved an identity of his own,” Niranjan had said.
