Jamshedpur. Mar 26:
Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren today ruled out an alliance between his party and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for the simultaneous parliamentary and Assembly elections in Odisha.
“There will be no alliance with the BJD. The party would contest the elections on its own,” Soren said when asked about a possible alliance with the Naveen Patnaik led party in Odisha.
After announcing a seat sharing arrangement with the JMM, BJD had later backed out due to differences over the number of seats to be contested by the two parties.
Following the break-up of talks, JMM state unit president Sudam Marandi and his close associate Bhadav Hansda had joined the BJD and were promptly nominated as the BJD candidates in Bangiriposi and Saraskana Assembly seats in Mayurbhanj district respectively.
