Brahmapur, Dec 16:
For successful implementation of Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS) in the state, some police stations will have solar power system installed in their premises soon to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
Director of State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB), M Akshaya said the department had entered into an agreement with Odisha Renewal Energy Development (OREDA) for installation of solar power systems in some police stations of the state with no or erratic power supply.
A total of 161 police stations have been selected for installation of solar power system.
He said Rs 2.10 crore out of the agreed amount of Rs 5.90 crore had been already provided to OREDA for the purpose.
Under CCTNS, a total of 784 police establishments, including 581 police stations, will be connected through computer networking.
CCTNS is part of Central government’s National e-Governance Project (NeGP) in Odisha.
