Bhubaneswar, Dec 23:
Siksha O’ Anusandhan (SOA) University was conferred with the prestigious Performance Excellence Award by the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE) at its annual general body meeting held here on Sunday.
The award was presented by IIIE’s national council chairman, Commander BM Bhandarkar at the meeting held at the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER) campus.
Eminent professor Kailash Chandra Sahu, former Professor at IIT, Kharagpur and former chairman of IIIE, was also felicitated on the occasion for his distinguished contribution to the field of industrial engineering.
In his address, Sahu, presently the Professor Emeritus at SOA University, urged the assembled engineers and technocrats to do the right work in the most efficient way. “Everything is waiting to be done more precisely and efficiently. The world is crying for effectiveness and efficiency,” he said.
“The onus to make this planet a better place is on you and me. Perfection is not a destination but a journey and attitude is of great value,” Sahu said, adding “Our generation might have messed up things, now you have to take the right path.”
Bhandarkar said the IIIE Bhubaneswar Chapter had emerged as a strong pillar of the organization while a student chapter had also been set up in the city.
Among others, Prof RK Mishra, dean of ITER and Prof AK Behera, Chapter secretary of the organization addressed the meeting which was presided over by Prof RP Mohanty, president of the Chapter.
