Bhubaneswar, Dec 26:
Sikhsha O Anusandhan (SOA) University and the Daffodil International University, Dhaka, would work together in research and other collaborative areas for mutual benefit.
This was agreed upon at a meeting between Mohammed Sabur Khan, President of the Daffodil International University and Prof RP Mohanty, vice chancellor of the SOA University when the former called on the latter at the University office on Thursday afternoon.
“There is a lot of scope for working together. If we make a start, we can identify the areas of cooperation,” said Khan, who was till recently President of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and runs two Universities—one in Dhaka and another in Malayasia.
He also pointed out that Daffodil and SOA, who had signed a MoU for collaboration earlier, could work together in the field of IT and management.
Felicitating Khan on the occasion, Prof Mohanty said the two universities would also have student and cultural exchanges while faculty members would visit each other to deliver lectures.
Among others, Dean (Research) of SOA University Prof PK Nanda also spoke on the occasion.
The SOA University had earlier signed a series of MoUs with several other Asian universities, including the Cambodia University for Specialities, University of Transport (Vietnam), Salahuddin University (Iraq) and Rajamangala University of Technology and Asian Institute of Technology (both Thailand).
