Bhubaneswar, Apr 27:
Khandagiri police have busted a cattle trafficking racket and seized six trucks illegally carrying 300 heads of cattle from Begunia area of Odisha’s Khodha district late yesterday night.
While the police have detained all the six drivers of the vehicles for questioning, the cattle have been sent to the goshala (cattle shelter) at Choudwar in Cuttack district, police sources said.
The trucks were illegally transporting the cattle to West Bengal, from where the cattle would have been smuggled into Bangladesh to be used for beef, said police sources.
