The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing black money transaction in the country, will have a meeting here on Thursday to chalk out a plan for its investigation into the trail of illegally generated money in Odisha.
The meeting would be presided over by the SIT vice chairman and former Supreme Court judge Justice Arijit Pasayat who arrived in the state on Wednesday.
The meeting, to be attended by the director and other officials of Enforcement Directorate (ED), will have a detailed discussion on the money trail of chit and mining companies and the dubious transactions of Sarathi Baba, sources said.
The ED, during its recent interrogation of some mines and transport owners as well as some officials and staff of chit fund companies, has made some vital breakthroughs. Besides, it has also obtained some important documents relating to Sarathi Baba’s case.
Basing on these, the meeting would formulate strategies to track the money trail of the aforesaid individuals and companies, the sources added.
