Eminent playback singer Anuradha Paudwal was awarded the ninth Prafulla Kar Samman on the 77th Birth Anniversary celebration of the illustrious Odia singer here on Monday.
A two-day singing programme “Kamal Desh Rajkumar”, began on Monday at Rabindra Mandap. Yesterday where the ninth Prafulla Kar Samman 2016 was given to Mumbai-based singer Anuradha Paudwal . The award carries a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh, a citation and a shawl.
Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda, Panchayati Raj Minister Arun Kumar Sahu, MLA Bijay Mohanty, member, board of revenue, Ashok Kumar Tripathy, among others were present in the function.
The function was chaired by foundation president Dash Benhur and the award ceremony was followed by a rendition by Paudwal who sang both Hindi and Odia songs with vocalist Mahaprasad Kar.
