Cuttack, Feb 6:
Vice Chancellor of Ravenshaw University Prof Baishnab Charan Tripathy on Thursday relieved Prathasarathi Mishra, dean, students’ welfare (DSW), of his duty following the report of the gender sensitisation committee on Wednesday.
Tripathy had asked the Committee to probe into the allegation of sexual harassment of a Computer Science student against Mishra.
The Committee, in course of its investigation, had interrogated the victim on Monday and later interrogated Mishra on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the Committee submitted its report to the vice chancellor.
“It is very likely that the allegation against the dean might be true”, the report stated.
“The University has relieved Mishra of his duty. Besides, it has also advised the victim to file a case with the police in this connection”, the vice chancellor told reporters here.
Meanwhile, sources said that disciplinary action would be taken against Mishra, a senior OAS officer, who was posted in the university on deputation.
