Seven hurt in LPG cylinder blast in Odisha’s Bolangir

Bolangir, July 10:

At least seven persons, including four children and two women, sustained critical burn injuries this morning after a cooking gas cylinder burst and caught fire in Laxminagar locality of Bolangir in western  Odisha .

lpg-blastAll the injured were admitted to the district headquarters hospital here. While doctors attending on them said that six of the injured have 40% burns, the condition of one of the children was critical.

Three children were shifted to VIMSAR, Burla later in the day.

Others may also require shifting depending on their condition, attending doctors at the district headquarters hospital said.

Since all the injured are unable to speak, the exact cause of the mishap is not known.

Reports said the accident occurred while food was being cooked in the house.

At least seven persons including four children and two women sustained critical burn injuries this morning as a cooking gas cylinder got burst and caught fire in Laxminagar locality of Odisha’s district headquarters town Bolangir. All the injured have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital in Bolangir. While doctors attending to them said that six of them have 40% burns, the condition of one of the children was critical. Arrangements are being made for shifting the child to either Rourkela or Burla for better treatment. Reports said the accident occurred when food was being cooked in the house when the gas cylinder burst and the incumbents in the house sustained burn injuries in the blaze.

    2. I have contacted the Bolangir ADMO Dr. Nanda Padhi (943794869) ten minutes back, he has assured me to give the details of the victims after reaching hospital within 30 minutes.

    3. I would contact the concerned LPG Distributor after taking all data from the ADMO and would direct the distributor to do the needful for the INSURANCE CLAIM as we all know that LPG CONSUMERS ARE COVERED UNDER INSURANCE OF RUPEES FORTY LAKHS (Rs 40,00,000/-).

    4. The ADMO gave all the victims names at 04.40 PM

    B) Rajani Negi Age: 30 years
    C) Santi Negi Age: 40 years
    D) Abhimanyu Patra Age: 42 years
    E) Aruna Negi Age: 03 Years
    F) Raju Negi Age: 06 years

    5. As per the statement of ADMO, one Police Case was registered in Town P.S. Bolangir, I rang up to Town P.S. several times at 05.00 PM ( 06652232400) but irresponsible Odisha Police did not attend my phone.

    6. If any Facebook friend gets any information about this incident, kindly intimate me or educate the family members of the victims about the insurance.
