Odisha’s Kendrapara police special squad yesterday detained seven men for allegedly planning to commit various types of crimes.
They have been detained at Kendrapara Sadar police station for further questioning.
The seven have confessed that they were planning to commit crimes at three different places of the district, said a police source.
While two of the arrestees hail from the Kendrapara Municipal area, three belong to Dorabandha area and the remaining two are from Aul area.
The arrested miscreants had planned to meet Muna, son of gangster Hyder, who was to be produced before Pattamundai Court in a case yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off and as directed by SP Nitinjit Singh, the special squad arrested them while they were waiting at Pattamundai bypass to meet Muna.
