Bhubaneswar, Sep 6:
Pradip Sethy, the CMD of Artha Tatwa (AT) group and a key player in the Odisha chit fund scam, today dropped a bombshell of sorts when he said a minister was one of the stakeholders in a company he had invested in.
“I invested Rs 1.65 crore in Theme Creatives Private Limited, an advertising agency promoted by a minister and a former BJD MLA through Bikash Swain,” Sethy told a select group of journalists while being produced at the CBI court here today.
Before he could be pinned down on the identity of the two, Sethy was whisked away by CBI officers. But he did confirm before being taken away that it was an incumbent minister.
When confronted with this explosive allegation, Bikash Swain, proprietor of Odia daily ‘Suryaprava’ who was produced in the same court before being sent on a 14-day CBI remand, declined to comment.
Curiously, after the revelations by Sethy, all pages on Theme Creatives Pvt Ltd were found disabled on the internet.
But information gleaned from the net before it went off the radar revealed that it was a private company incorporated on March 18, 2011 and registered with the Registrar of Companies, Cuttack (Registration Number 13338) with a share capital of Rs 1,000,000 and a paid up capital of an equal amount.
The last annual general meeting (AGM) of the company was held on September 17, 2013 and the last balance sheet filed on March 31, 2013.
The registered office of the company is at Pancha Devi BMC Market Complex, Unit IV, Bhubaneswar.
