Soro: Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted valuables and cash worth lakhs of rupees from at least three temples at Sabira village under Soro police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district late last night.
As per a complaint lodged by the villagers with police, a group of robbers decamped with gold and silver ornaments and cash stashed inside donation boxes of the temples. The loot has been committed at Radhakrishna temple, Jagulai temple and Patrasuni temple in the locality.
The matter came to fore after a priest opened the gate of the Radhakrishna temple and found the lock of the main door broken. Empty donation boxes were also found at a field near the village.
Police have started investigation into the incident.
