The Bhubaneswar Sepak Takraw Association has decided to introduce Sepak Takraw in all government and private schools and colleges in Odisha’s capital city.
A decision to this effect was taken at the annual general meeting of the Association presided over by well-known sports organizer and administrator Ashok Mohanty at Kishore Club premises on Saturday.
The meeting decided to form an organizing committee for successful conduct of 15th State Senior Sepak Takraw Championship to be held from October 11 to 12.
The Association also decided to organise a one-day Sepak Takraw tournament for men and women on September 24 at Kishore Club premises and a meeting of the organising committee for 15th State Senior Sepak Takraw Championship on the same day at the same venue at 3 PM followed by a press meet at 5 PM.
Among others, vice president of Odisha State Sepak Takraw Association Pravas Subhadarshan Mohanty, state coach and international player Lalatendu Swain and working secretary Sahadev Rout were present at the meeting.
The office-bearers’ election of the Association was held on the occasion.
The members elected for various posts are Er. Jagannath Pradhan-president, Sulata Deo-working president, Brundan Dalabehera, Jalil Khan, Naba Kishore Behera and Er BS Mohanty-all vice-presidents, Pradip Kumar Routray-secretary, Tapan Bhanj, Milan Paikray, Ardhendu Das and Goutam Behera-all assistant secretaries, Trinath Mangaraj-treasurer and Ashok Kumar Mohanty, Arabinda Mitra, Dr Sourjya Ranjan Parija, Dr Dilip Srichandan and Rama Ranjan Samantray- all advisors.
