In a major relief to Satyam Raul, the foster son of self professed godman Sarathi Baba , the Odisha High Court has granted him conditional bail, today.
Justice C R Das has imposed two major conditions before granting bail to Satyam, first he cannot leave the state without permission. Second, he shall fully cooperation to the Crime Branch.
Satyam will also have to report before an investigation officer every 15 days.
Satyam, the adopted son of Sarathi Baba aka Santosh Raul were in judicial custody at Choudwar Circle Jail after their remand period ended and the Crime Branch did not seek further remand for interrogation.
The self-styled godman Sarathi Baba was arrested on August 8 under Sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery with the purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine forged document), 341 (wrongful confinement) 506 (criminal intimidation), 379 (theft) of the IPC and SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act (offences of atrocities against the members of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes).
On the other hand, Satyam, who had gone missing since the day the Baba hit the headlines for his alleged nefarious activities, was arrested by Crime Branch police from Mumbai and brought back to Odisha on August 19.
