Bhubaneswar, Nov 30:
A three-tier security cover has been put on place in and around Odisha Assembly in view of the winter session scheduled to begin tomorrow, said Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania today.
“Bhubaneswar DCP will be in-charge of the security arrangements. We have deployed six officers of Deputy Commandant and Additional SP rank. Besides, 10 Assistant Commandants and 80 police officers have been deployed in a three-tier security arrangement,” said Khurania.
He further added that as many as 35 platoons of forces have been pressed into service and security arrangements have been beefed up across the city including key junctions.
In addition, the cops have deployed PCR vans, formed special patrolling units, and pressed in the Quick Reaction Team (QRT) to keep a tab on developments around the Assembly.
It may be mentioned here that Police DG KB Singh along with Director (Intelligence) Sunil Roy today visited the Assembly to review the security arrangements.
