Security personnel seize arms from Odisha forest

Security personnel seized weapons hidden by the Maoists inside a forest in Odisha’s Sundargarh district during a joint combing operation on Wednesday.

arms seizedTalking to OST, Bonai SDPO RB Panigrahi said a joint team of CRPF, District Voluntary Force (DVF) and K Balang police, during a combing operation in Sitautola Reserve Forest near Langalkanta on Tuesday night, seized four guns, three small bore rifles and a pistol hidden inside the forest.

He said the reserve forest area, very close to Saranda forst, is considered a stronghold of the Maoists.

It may be mentioned that the security personnel had recently seized three rifles, detonators, gun powder and liquid explosives from the area.
