Cuttack: Commissionerate police tightened the security for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s one-day visit to Odisha scheduled today.
Around 100 platoons of police forces have been deployed in twin city Bhubaneswar and Cuttack as part of security arrangements by the police administration for PM Modi’s programme at Cuttack where he will address a huge gathering to highlight the BJP-led NDA government’s achievements during past four years. .
“We have made adequate security arrangements for the helipad and meeting place. Our objective is to see security foolproof and the crowd regulation and crowd control. Traffic arrangement has been made in Cuttack. The parking arrangement has also been made at the venue,” said DGP Dr RP Sharma.
Adequate numbers of police officers including woman police and plain-clothes police officers have been deployed at meeting place to supervise the security during PM Modi’s visit, he said.
On the other hand, the state BJP leaders have invited people in Cuttack to attend Modi’s public rally. Posters and banners have been put up on road sides even on outskirts of Bhubaneswar as part of promotion.
PM Modi will address a huge gathering at Bali Jatra Ground in Cuttack on completion four years of BJD-led NDA government at Centre.
He is scheduled to arrive at around 3.15 pm in Bhubaneswar, from where he will fly to Naraj in Cuttack in a helicopter.
A mock drill has been conducted by Indian Air Force at helipad in Naraj. The barricades have been set up on both sides of the Road from Naraj to Bali Jatra Ground in Cuttack.
