Former judge of the Odisha High Court Chaudhury Pratap Keshari Mishra on Tuesday urged media persons to make efforts to create awareness among the people about socio-economic and political problems as well as social evils which take society towards destruction.
Speaking after unveiling a book “Marutirthara Jala” written by veteran journalist Prasanta Patnaik here, Justice Mishra praised the efforts of the author to expose social and political evils and waging a war against alcohol consumption through his feature “Madhura Bisara Swada” (The taste of sweet poison).
He hoped that the creative writers and media persons will take their duty towards the people, state and humanity with utmost seriousness.
Reviewing the book, well-known educationist and writer Adhyapak Biswaranjan said all the features bear the testimony of time and present a true picture of the society which have great social, historical and political value.
Among others, pioneer of Odia theatre movement Ananta Mohapatra also spoke.
On the occasion, artist Ramakanta Samantaray and cartoonist Kamala Kanta Rath (KK) were felicitated by Justice Mishra for their contribution to the media in the state.
