Burla, Dec 28:
The Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) students have gheraoed the office of the medical superintendent today, as they continue to protest against the absorption of students of Jaring-based Sardar Rajas Medical College (SRMC).
The medicos have locked the gates of the college since last two days in a bid to prevent students of the Sardar Rajas College from reporting for admission after they took re-admission at Directorate of Medical Education & Training (DMET), Odisha.
The Sardar Rajas College students were supposed to report for admission on 26 December to the Burla medical college.
While, the additional Collector and SP are expected to hold discussions with VIMSAR students, there is also a possibility of the lock to be broken by the authorities today.
As per the Orissa High Court order, 54 students of the Sardar Rajas Medical College have been relocated to VIMSAR.
