Puri, Dec 23:
On the eve of Christmas, internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik is all set to create a giant sculpture of Santa Claus on the beach of Puri with the help of his students of the Sudarsan Sand Art Institute.
The ace sand sculptor with the help of his students has been working overtime since Tuesday to meet the deadline of Christmas eve. The sculptors are hopeful of entering the Limca Book of Records with the giant sand Santa Claus measuring 40 feet high and 50 feet wide.
“We started the job since yesterday and are hopeful to finish it by tomorrow evening. We aim to make it at least 40 feet high and 50 feet wide,” international sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik told OST.
“I am trying to create world’s tallest sand #SantaClaus for #Christmas @Puribeach, India. I hope for a #worldrecord,” Sudarsan Pattnaik tweeted.
Notably, eight creations of Pattnaik in different categories have already entered the Limca Book of Records earlier.
It may be recalled that Pattnaik had sculpted a 35 feet high and 75 feet wide sand Jesus Christ with the help of 1, 000 tonnes of sand two years ago on the eve of Christmas. He sculpted it with the help of 25 students of his Institute which took three days to complete the work.
