Samata Kranti Dal’s poll manifesto: ‘Unemployment-free’ Odisha in key focus

Bhubaneswar: The Samata Kranti Dal (SKD) promised to build an ‘unemployment-free’ Odisha if the party wins the polls in the State.

The regional party led by former union minister Braja Kishore Tripathy came up with big promises for better Odisha in its poll manifesto released yesterday here.

In the poll manifesto, the SKD promised for security of farmers and agriculture, proper utilisation of youth power, unemployment-free Odisha, social justice, labourers’ rights, formation of Bhumi Aayog, safety of women and children, implementation of PESA and Forest Act, restriction on excessive fee hike in private-run educational institutions, Prohibition Act implementation, State Planning Commission, Legislative Council, 24×7 drinking water and electricity to rural areas, three special Odia universities, promotion of Odia language in cut-off areas, unbiased human rights commission and hunger-free legislation.

Worth mentioning, the party has fielded candidates for 17 Assembly Constituencies and only one Lok Sabha seat in the ensuing general elections in Odisha.

While Saroj Tripathy is the lone candidate in the party nominated to contest polls from Dhenkanal Lok Sabha seat, 17 others — Dhanapati Sahoo, Haraprasad Meher, Debendra Nath Singh, Shantanu Das, Santosh Suryavanshi, Lakiram Gond, Khenu Muduli, Sunil Patnaik, Akshay Rout, Dharamveer Singh Thakur, Bharat Tripathy, Sanjay Singh, Udhhab Munda, Prafulla Mallick, Trinath Nayak, Sudarsan Jali, Samir Swain will enter into elections from Bhatli, Brajarajnagar, Bangiriposi, Jaleswar, Jajpur, Umerkot, Chitrakonda, Paralakhemundi, Dhenkanal, Kamakhyanagar, Nuapada, Khariar, Lanjigarh, Kantamal, Dasapalla, Khalikote and Aska Assembly seats in Odisha.

However, the founder of the party, Braja Tripathy, will not contest the upcoming polls.
