Bhubaneswar, Sept 4:

In a press release Samantara said the Angul district administration had little option than to cancel it as the people, who are to be displaced from 7000 acres of agriculture land were determined to face the armed police forces.

“But it is unfortunate the hired goons of Adani Company could attack the people in presence of the police. Those culprits should be arrested,” Samantara said in the release.

“Why the government proceeded to have a public hearing after Supreme Court declared allocation of coal blocks including Machakuta as illegal?” he asked, adding, “the Adani Company, blue eyed boy of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to use Odisha government to exploit our resources at the cost of our agriculture and water,” he said.

Samantara further said, “Adani should realize the people of Odisha cannot be silenced by the state repression or corporates’ money power. Lok Shakti Abhiyan urges the government of Odisha to withdraw land acquisition order in this region. The government of India should not allot coal mines which are under agricultural land.”
