Cuttack, Apr 20:
The Odisha Police which had arrested Kamalakanta Malla, prime accused in the sensational sex video scandal in Baliapada village under Nemala police station in Salepur block in Cuttack district, and his associate Janmejaya Barik from Bhadrak Railway Station on Sunday, have found involvement of two more youths in the incident.
Giving details at a press briefing here, Cuttack Rural SP Gurudas Kundu said Malla, a Plus Two student of Nemala College had physical relationship with the minor girl, a class X student, for nearly one-and-half year. Later, he had surreptitiously shot the acts of love-making on a mobile camera at a secluded place on the bank of Luna river near the village.
“After recording the clipping, Malla had given it to his associate Amar Pradhan alias Nanda who later sold it to Janmejaya Barik alias Butu and Sanjib Barik of the same village at Rs 500 who later uploaded the video clippings in the internet,” Kundu said.
He said the police, during investigation, found Malla as the prime accused and nabbed him and his associate Janmejaya from Bhadrak Railway Station yesterday while they were trying to flee to Delhi.
“During interrogation of the duo, police later came to know about the two other accused who have absconded in the meanwhile”, he said, adding efforts are on to arrest them at the earliest possible.
The SP also said after the incident came to limelight, there was a meeting in the village where it was decided to solemnise the marriage of the girl with the accused.
“But considering the fact that the marriage cannot be solemnised since duo was minors, the girl later took the extreme step in fear of public shame”, he pointed out.
He said the two arrested youths would be forwarded to court today.
