The Odisha government’s School and Mass Education department has decided to make available for sale all nationalized textbooks for 2017-18 academic year for students of class I to class VIII of different unaided private schools of the state from April 20 at specified rate, said an official release issued by the Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA) here today.
For the benefit of students, these textbooks would be available for sale at 50% rebate in 64 identified sale counters across 30 districts of the state. Price of these specified 48 textbooks has been intimated through a notification, the release added.
The release said that each student or his/her guardian can purchase only one set of books. Students/guardians have been advised to check the seal and signature of the concerned official while purchasing textbooks at stipulated prices.
Appropriate action will be taken against anyone found selling these textbooks at places other than the identified sale counters or at prices higher than stipulated, the release warned.
