Ruckus at Capital Hospital in Odisha over newborn’s death

Tension gripped Capital Hospital here today as family members of a four-day-old baby created ruckus after the newborn’s death alleging negligence in treatment.


According to reports, wife of Purnabasi Sahoo, a resident of Nayapalli here, had given birth to a baby boy at Capital Hospital on September 27. Though the health condition of the baby was stable after birth, it deteriorated after he was administered polio vaccine.

The infant died early this morning while undergoing treatment, sources said.

The family members of the deceased alleged that negligence in treatment by the doctors at the hospital led to the death of the baby.
