RSP sends medical team to cyclone affected areas

    A Medical relief team was sent by Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) to the Phailin affected areas of Odisha on Wednesday as per the directions of the Special Secretary, Department of Health, Govt of Odisha.
    The medical team comprises Dr. J Acharya of Paediatrics, Dr. KC Tandi of Medicine, Dr. S Patra of Surgery. Pharmacists, male nursing brothers and medical attendants are also accompanying the team. The team is carrying medicines and other requisites like anti-diarroheals, antibiotics, anti-fungals, vitamins, ORS, dressing materials and ointments. A well equipped ambulance will also accompany the team to help in case of any eventuality. The medical team will report to the cyclone relief authorities at Bhubaneswar and thereafter proceed to the area assigned to it.
    A stand-by team has also been kept ready with additional medicines to rush to the area whenever necessary.
    Apart from the medical relief team, RSP is also sending relief material like generator sets, polythene sheets and chlorine tablets etc to the cyclone affected area.
    The team was flagged off by GS Prasad, CEO, Rourkela Steel Plant at Ispat General Hospital. Also present on the occasion were Dipankar Basu, ED (P&A), Dr. SK Mishra, Director in-charge (Medical and Health Services), Dr BB Rao, Director (Medical and Health Services), Dr. Sanjeeb Mohanty, Director (Medical and Health Services) and many other senior officers and doctors of RSP.
