Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) stormed into the final after they beat Cuttack-B by 55 runs on the fourth and final day of the second semifinal match of the Kalahandi Cup, the premier cricket tournament in Odisha, at Nimpur Ground here today.
Beginning the chase for a target of 282 for victory at their overnight score at 46 without loss, Cuttack-B began kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually folded up for 227 runs.
Barring Prateek Das (83), Santosh Rout (51) and Payas Ranjan Sinha (41), the remaining batsmen went out cheaply.
For RSP, Amit Das and Alok Pradhan claimed three wickets each while Santosh Maharana and Atish Jena bagged two and one wicket respectively.
With this win, RSP would meet Cuttack-A in the final.
