Rs 7.80 lakh looted from toll plaza staff at gunpoint near Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 7.80 lakh from two staff of a toll plaza on Rourkela-Sambalpur Biju Expressway at gunpoint in Odisha’s Sundargarh district today.

According to reports, two staff of Laing toll plaza were intercepted by three persons near Jhagarapur while the duo was heading towards a bank on a motorcycle to deposit the amount.

The looters threatened the two at gunpoint and snatched away a bag containing the cash from their possession. The wrongdoers then fled the spot soon after committing the act.

Police have started investigation into the incident by detaining a security guard for questioning. Involvement of some staff of the toll plaza behind the loot is also being suspected.

On the other hand, various roads in the area have been sealed to nab the robbers.
