The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Monday decided to provide Rs five lakh each for building shrines at the three locations – Kharipadia, Kanakpur and Adhangagada – in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district where the darus (neem trees) of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra were located, informed Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, chief administrator SJTA.
In addition to that, all the four locations including that of Gadakuntunia where the daru of Lord Sudarshan were located, will be provided with a chariot wheel as a memento, Mohapatra said.
Gadakuntunia, the location of Lord Sudarshan’s daru has not been considered for building of shrine since it’s located on a river embankment, he added.
The chief administrator said Arakhita Mallick, the owner of the plot where the daru of Lord Jagannath was located, will be compensated with an amount of Rs three lakh for the loss sustained by him.
