Angul, Oct 5:
The death of an assistant sub inspector (ASI) of Purunakot police station in Odisha’s Angul district has triggered a row between the family members and the police.
While the family members have alleged that the death of Ranjan Sahu was a case of murder, Dhenkanal SP Nikhil Kanodia said the police are yet to receive any complaint from the family members so far.
He said some people had accompanied Sahu to his native village Kaluria under the Joranda police station limits where he died today.
Refuting the allegations of the family members that the police were responsible for his ‘murder, the Angul SDPO said Sahu was suffering from both malaria and jaundice.
“Sahu had gone to his village on sick leave after his treatment at the Police Hospital in Angul”, he added.
