Armed robbers at gunpoint allegedly looted Rs 45 lakh from the staff of the toll plaza at Godipada in Odisha’s Khordha district in broad daylight today.

Reports said the gate manager and supervisor of the toll plaza were carrying toll collection of last two days in a Santro car bearing registration number AP 9AJ 5827 to deposit in a bank at around 3 PM when they were stopped near Jankia petrol pump close to the police station by three miscreants who came in a black car.

One of the three miscreants pointed a mauzer at the toll plaza staff sitting inside the Santro car and snatched away the box containing the cash, reports added.

The robbers after committing the crime drove away towards Berhampur in the car, reports further said.

While the toll plaza staff have lodged a complaint at the Jankia police station, police have detained them and is interrogating them, reports added.

Notably, on an earlier incident,robbers had looted Rs 28 lakh from employees of the same toll plaza.
