Robbers snatch Rs 4.7 lakh from city trader

In a daring act two bike-borne robbers looted Rs 4.7 lakh from a city-based trader near the State Bank of India (SBI) branch at IDCO Tower under the Sahid Nagar police limits here.

Reports said the trader had withdrawn Rs 4 lakh 70 thousand from the Satyanagar branch of the ICICI Bank and was about to deposit the amount at the IDCO Tower SBI branch when the robbers snatched the cash bag from his hand and sped away on their bike.

Kedar Pradhan, a security guard and an eye-witness said two people on a black bike snatched the bag as soon as the trader got down from his bike and headed towards the entrance of the SBI branch office.

The trader who was looted today has been identified as Santosh Pradhan who lives in Palasuni under the Mancheswar police limits and runs  timber wood business in the city.
