Konark, Nov 5:
Unidentified robbers attempted to loot cash from two ATMs of State Bank of India at Charichaka Bazaar in Odisha’s Konark late last night but failed.
Though the looters failed to steal cash, they took away nine 12 volt batteries kept in the backyard of the ATM counter, sources said.
They also tried to take away the hard disk of the CCTV cameras installed at the counter but failed. However, they damaged the CCTV cameras before fleeing the spot, sources added.
The incident came to fore this morning as locals spotted the two machines in broken condition and informed police about it.
Police reached the spot and started investigation into the incident. The hard disk has been seized by police.
Notably, some miscreants had looted more than Rs 30 lakh from three different ATMs in Bhadrak district yesterday.
