Kendrapara, Jan 7:
In a shocking incident, a person has hanged himself to death in Odisha’s Kendrapara district allegedly for family and relatives not allowing him to contest in the upcoming rural elections.
The deceased has been identified as Nabaghana Malik, resident of Gulnagar village under Kendrapara block in the district and was earning his daily bread and butter by pulling trolley rickshaw.
According to reports, Nabaghana was willing to contest as a ward member candidate from Ward no 10 in the panchayat which he had revealed before his family and relatives on Thursday.
However, his family did not agree with the proposal following which he was in a state of depression since then.
Shockingly, his family members found him on Friday afternoon hanging from a tree nearby his house. He was rescued and rushed to the district headquarters hospital in Kendrapara where the doctor on duty declared him brought dead.
The deceased’s family members have revealed that they had barred him from fighting the upcoming panchayat election due to family’s poor economic condition and his low income status.
