Bhubaneswar, Mar 3:
Putting all speculation to rest, senior Congress leader and Opposition leader Bhupinder Singh today made it clear that he had not resigned from the party.
“I was sick and undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The hospital authorities, while admitting me, had put a condition: that I will not use a mobile phone nor would my family members be present at the hospital,” the Leader of the Opposition said.
“I was pained to know the speculation in the media about my resignation. I want to make it clear that I have neither resigned from the Congress nor have any intention of doing so,” Singh said.
Singh said he had not gone into hiding and was seriously ill. “My WBC count had shot up to 24, 000 and there was an infection too, which made my condition serious,” he said.
“I had told you so while going to hospital on February 27,” he said pointing an accusing finger on the assembled media persons blaming them for the speculation regarding his resignation from the Congress.
