Gurgaon, July 27 :
A teenaged girl from West Bengal, who was rescued from traffickers last week, has been kidnapped from a shelter home here, police said Sunday.
The 14-year-old girl from West Bengal’s Malda district was rescued earlier last week from Govind Dass, Ranjid and Mitali, aged between 25 and 30 years. The three were arrested from Vyapar Kendra in Sushant Lok area here Monday.
The trio was sent to jail while the girl was handed over to the warden of a shelter home here.
The girl went missing from Aasha Niwas Nari Niketan shelter home Saturday.
“Pramila, the warden, did not inform the police about the minor missing from the home. Some informer told police about the incident,” police officer Tejpal told IANS.
“Warden Pramila and persons unknown have been booked under sections of kidnapping and plotting the crime,” he said.
There were a total of seven girls in the shelter home and there were no CCTV surveillance cameras or security guard.
“Warden Pramila said that somehow the gate was left open and the minor managed to escape,” officer Tejpal added.
“We are questioning the warden and she will be arrested soon,” he further added.
Dass, who was arrested Monday, is an auto-rickshaw driver and lives in Ghazipur area of Delhi while Ranjid and Mitali live in Govindpuri.
Both men are from Malda district in West Bengal while the woman hailed from Madhubani district of Bihar.
Dass had lured the girl from Malda promising her a better job and lifestyle in Delhi.
The girl has been in captivity in Dass’s Delhi house since July 18.
The three accused had come to Gurgaon July 21 to find a buyer for the girl.
“They planned to push the girl into prostitution or sell her for Rs.2 lakh,” a senior police officer told the media.
