Rescued elephant calf to be sent to Kapilash zoo in Odisha

Angul: An elephant calf rescued near Dangamala village in Angul district will be sent to Kapilash zoo in Dhenkanal district following treatment.

The elephant calf will be sent to Kapilash zoo after it recovers completely, said Angul DFO V Kartik

The baby elephant is currently undergoing treatment following rescue by the forest officials on Thursday.

According to reports, the elephant calf was separated from herd of elephants near Dangamala village in Chhendipada forest area yesterday and could not return its place due to crowd. The forest officials rescued the baby elephant and sent it for the treatment on premises of Odisha Forest Rangers’ College in Angul district.
