Bhubaneswar, May 11:
The Urban Development department will submit a detailed report on allotment of plots and houses under discretionary quota (DQ) made before 1995 to the Odisha government in three months.
“As per the recommendation of the special task force on DQ, instructions have been given to serve show cause notices to 6001 persons,” Urban Development minister Pushpendra Singhdeo told the media on Sunday.
He said the allotment would be cancelled if any violation of rules comes to the notice of the government. Further investigation might be required in some cases, he added.
The minister also said the files and documents pertaining to the faulty allotment plots and flats would be handed over to the Vigilance department.
“The Urban Development department will seek Vigilance probe against those who have been allotted more than one flat under DQ. I have asked the department authorities to hand over the files to the Vigilance officials as and when they seek them,” Singhdeo said.
The minister also said instructions have been given to the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB) to take similar action as per the recommendation of the special task force.
“I have asked the director, Estates, Ram Narayan Das and secretaries of Urban Development and Finance departments to take actions after the approval of files relating to the process for cancellation of allotment by the chief minister,” the minister said.
