Cuttack, Feb 22:
Violence continues to mar voting process even after conclusion of panchayat polls in Odisha as repolling at six booths of Pokhari village under Niali block in Odisha’s Cuttack district was cancelled today following a group clash.
Police forces have been deployed in the village to avoid any untoward incident.
According to reports, a clash ensued between two groups this morning over looting of ballot box by unidentified miscreants yesterday during fifth and final phase of panchayat polls.
After the incident, it was decided to conduct repolling at the six booths today.
However, villagers staged protest demanding repolling in the entire panchayat and arrest of the wrongdoers which led to the clash.
