Bhubaneswar, Dec 28:
Indian Red Cross Society-Odisha State Branch (IRCS-OSB) organised its two-day District Red Cross Secretaries’ Conference 2013 with the support of IRCS, National Headquarters & International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), New Delhi here on Saturday.
The main objective of the conference was to review the activities of the branches for the year 2012-13 and share the planned activities for the year 2013-14.
Mangala Prasad Mohanty, Honorary Secretary, (IRCS-OSB) inaugurated the conference as Chief Guest and welcomed the District Secretaries participating in the conference and shared the activities of Odisha State Branch.
On its second day of Conference today, Sudhansu Bhushan Mishra, Chairman, Health & Care Standing Committee, IRCS-OSB & former Chief Secretary, appreciated the activities of Odisha State Branch with the support of the District Branches.
Mishra emphasized the need to conduct more Health Camps in inaccessible areas of the state and promote the Jan Aushadhi campaign. He advised that in near future Red Cross should conduct activities for PWD in the state.
Bijay Kumar Sahoo, Chairman, Finance Standing Committee, IRCS-OSB advised the District Secretaries to monitor financial matters regularly and carry out audit of their accounts every year.
District Secretaries from across the state and Regional Red Cross Branch and Police Commisionerate Bhubaneswar-Cuttack participated in this programme.
