The Odisha government has decided complete the recruitment for 50,000 news posts in various department in the current financial year.
Presiding over a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat here, chief minister Naveen Patnaik directed the concerned authorities to expedite the recruitment process.
The chief minister also asked the chief secretary to keep in touch with the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) to expedite recruitment for the vacant posts in the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) cadre.
The review meeting was informed that the state government has begun the recruitment process for 60,937 vacant and newly created posts in the state of which 10,000 posts have already been filled up and that steps have been taken to fill up the remaining posts by the end of the current fiscal.
Recruitment for various posts in the School and Mass Education, SC and ST Development, Home, Health and Family Welfare, Panchayati Raj, Water Resources, Agriculture, Energy, Works and Women and Child Development departments would be made.
Among others, chief secretary GC Pati, Development Commissioner AP Padhi, additional chief secretary, Finance, UN Behera, principal secretaries and secretaries of the concerned departments were present at the meeting.
