A special team of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) today interrogated the five Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) operatives arrested from Odisha’s Rourkela on their links with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), revealed Special Task Force (STF) sources.
A PAN card in the name of a Hindu individual has been found from the possession of arrested operative Mehboob alias Guddu.
The PAN card is learnt to have been prepared in Ranchi. Jharkhand police officials are interrogating Mehboob on this account.
Similarly, call details of the arrested reveal that they frequently travelled to Kolkata. West Bengal police is interrogating them on this account.
Besides, it has been found out that a person of Jharkhand had helped the arrested SIMI activists.
“A team of the STF of the Crime Branch will leave for Jharkhand soon to inquire into the Jharkhand links of the arrested SIMI men. Test reports of different things seized from them is expected in the next 3-4 days,” revealed a senior official of the STF.
