Cuttack, Mar 8:

In the wake of resignation of Ravenshaw Vice Chancellor over student unrest, Odisha BJP Yuva Morcha today staged demonstration in front of the varsity protesting political interference in educational institutions.

The protesters burnt the effigies of two BJD MLAs — Pravat Biswal and Bebashis Samantray — alleging their involvement in the varsity matters.

The BJD members are interfering in the matters of the university. Some students backed by the BJD are creating ruckus in the university, BJP Yuva Morcha president Tankadhar Tripathy told yesterday.

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor Professor Prakash Sarangi has resumed office yesterday after Odisha Governor SC Jamir refused to accept his resignation.

After joining the office, Sarangi said that the indiscipline by students in the university campus will be dealt with strictly.

He said that he would not tolerate any kind of political interference in the university matters.
