A smashing unbeaten knock of 67 by opener Girjia Rout powered Odisha to a 9-wicket win over Jharkhand on the final day of their Ranji Trophy Group A fourth round match at DRIEMS Ground at Tangi on Sunday.
For the host team, seamers Basant Mohanty and Alok Sahoo claimed six and four wickets respectively.
After Mohanty, who had run through the Jharkhand top order claiming six wickets on Saturday, Sahoo grabbed last four wickets as the visitors were bowled out for 194 in their second innings.
Chasing a target of 109 runs, Odisha reached the target with ease with the loss of one wicket of Bikash Pati with a breezy knock of 67 by Girija Rout.
With this win, Odisha walked away with six points.
Odisha 307 and 109 for 1 : (Girija Rout 67 not out) beat Jharkhand 221 & 194 all out in 73.4 overs (Pappu Singh 61, Basant Mohanty 6/88, Alok Sahoo 4/42) by 9 wickets.
