The Odisha quickies bundled out Saurashtra for 218 in the first innings on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy Group-B match at Barabati stadium here today.
Basant Mohanty (4 for 40), Alok Mangaraj (4 for 57) and Deepak Behera (2 for 38) dismissed Saurashtra for 218 in 79.3 overs.
Saurashtra’s Chirag Jani missed out on his maiden first-class century as he remained unbeaten on 99 off 143 balls with nine boundaries and five sixes.
Electing to field, Saurashtra batsmen failed to put up an impressive score on board. Apart from Jani, opener Sagar Jogiyani and Cheteshwar Pujara made 21 and 20 runs respectively while the remaining seven batsmen could contribute only 78 runs.
At stumps, Odisha were zero without loss from one over.
