Ahmedabad, Dec 24:
Natraj Behera’s fine century went in vain as Odisha slumped to 345 for 8 in their first innings against Gujarat on the third day of the Ranji Trophy Group-A match at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel stadium here on Sunday
With only two wickets in hand, Odisha have only a remote chance of surpassing Gujarat’s first innings score of 479.
Resuming at the overnight score of 111 for 1, the Odisha batsmen began confidently. Behera, who had remained not out on 64, went on to compile a fine century.
This was his fourth century of the season. His previous three centuries were against Delhi followed by a century in each innings against Mumbai.
However, after his dismissal, Odisha lost wickets at regular intervals and none of the batsmen could stay long and got out with poor shot selection.
For Gurajat, RV Dhuvre and JJ Bumrah claimed four and two wickets respectively.
