Former Finance minister and veteran politician Ramakrushna Patnaik today met BJP Odisha unit president K V Singhdeo today amid speculations that he may join the saffron party.
Patnaik met Singhdeo at the latter’s residence here.
Patnaik and his wife Kumudini, a former MP had resigned from the Congress on February 23 alleging sidelining of senior leaders in the party by a coterie which is currently at the helm of affairs in the party at the state level.
A five-time legislator from Kodala assembly constituency in Ganjam district, Patnaik had handled important portfolios in his long stint as minister.
The senior leader was a minister in the Biju Patnaik’s cabinet before he joined the Naveen Patnaik ministry in 2000.
He had quit the BJD to join the Congress following serious differences with Naveen Patnaik.
